Kdrama Pay Back premiere episode

From the very first episode, Pay Back is proving to be a highly intense revenge drama that is absolutely breathtaking.

The first episode of SBS' new Friday-Saturday drama 'Pay Back', which aired at 10:00 pm on the 6th, ranked first in it's time slot with a a viewer rating of 9.6% in seoul and 8.7% nationwide, In addiction to coming first in its time slot, it also ranked first among the key demographic of viewers betwern 20-49 ) . Showing that the directing, script, and acting are harmonized.

In the first episode that was aired, Eun Yong (Lee Sun-kyun), a boy who lives a life where eating and sleeping are problems, after being released from a juvenile detention center, does not hesitate to do anything illegal with the intention of making a lot of money. While working as a gangster, he meets Myeong-in-ju (Kim Hong-pa), a godfather in the private loan market in Myeong-dong, he reached a turning point in his life when he became Myung in ju's henchman. However, Eun Yong suddenly left for Mongolia to live in seclusion, promising to make more money

While Eun-yong was gone, Jang Tae-chun (Kang Yoo-seok), his nephew who became a prosecutor, was informed of an internal document that suspected stock price manipulation of a stock recommended by a YouTuber called 'Yeouido Rambo'. When Jang Tae-chun learned that Hwang Ki-seok (Park Hoon), the chief prosecutor of the Special Division, the most powerful person in th prosecution , had hastily closed the case related to ''Rambo Yeouido" in the past, he contacted Eun-yong and asked him to interpret the coded report document .With Eun Yong's help, Jang Tae-chun discovered that Chairman Myung, Hwang Ki-suk's father-in-law and Eun Yong's godfather, was the majority shareholder of the company where the stock price manipulation profits flowed into, and he was excited to solve the case and get transferred to the special division.

However, because the case involved a lot of big names, including Chairman Myeong, the stock price manipulation case was about to be closed abruptly and Jang Tae-chun was overcome with a sense of defeat. , however the media reported that an investor who had been a victim of the stock price manipulation committed suicide. And that the person who reported the internal documents fabricated by Chairman Myung Balju was none other than Park Joon-kyung (Moon Chae-won), a former prosecutor and a judicial officer and army major.

In all, the first episode of "Pay Back" was a fantastic synergy between former film director Lee Won-tae's outstanding sense of directing and Kim Won-suk's excellent writing that convincingly unravelled a fresh and shocking story, that had the viewers deeply immerse. The vast natural scenes of Mongolia , Lee Sun-kyun's dazzling action scenes, and the emotional lines of the characters surrounding the events are clearly and perfectly depicted.
In addition, veteran actors such as Lee Seon-gyun, Moon Chae-won, Kang Yoo-seok, Park Hoon, and Kim Hong-fa did well "as expected” by fully immersing themselves in characters with complex narratives. Lee Sun-kyun three-dimensionally drew the character's narrative in detail , from his rough youth to the present day , and Moon Chae-won delicately expressed the dilemma of Park Joon-kyung, who was desperate for revenge after losing the most precious person in ner life. And Kang Yoo-seok smoothly portrayed Jang Tae-chun. Also, antagonists Park hoon and Kim Hong-fa perfectly embodied Hwang Ki-seok and President Myeong, who would do anything to fulfill their desires, with their terrific acting skills, keeping the tension tight.

On the other hand, at the ending of the episode, Eun-yong, dressed in a suit, boarded a private plane to return to south korea after 10 years. As Eun-yong heads back to fight along side Park Joon-kyung, there is a lot of anticipation for their full-fledged revenge against evil.
